I am in awe of our bright and beautiful whale sea friends. And now a tiny octopus. Grateful for the micro CT scan at Chicago's Field Museum. No knife for you tiny blue cutie 🐙

Love my fitness routine I can do at home or on the beach. And at midnight when the last city bus is a no show 🧘‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️

So honored to have a female orangie 🐈

The absolute best story today is about wind and solar surpassing gas as power sources! The feline possum mother, however, beats it for heart throbs. I would add that luna would only consent to such an arrangement if she could stay by your side, and certainly only by happenstance, not human plan. Whales, orcas, dolphins and kindred are magical creatures, of course. Longevity is a problematic subject. The geological message of the time lapse earth film for earth dwellers seems to be that large inland bodies of water will disappear.

I love that the river Wye has been basically given human rights. In the US, we gave corporations the same honor, and ended up with Orange pollution by the Potomac River.

None of my four cats would tolerate those baby opossums on their back lol! Someday, I would love to have an orange cat in my household, but I accept who chooses me instead. As to the exercise minutes, according to my Apple Watch fitness tracker, I (56f) am currently averaging 134 exercise minutes per day. I run 40 miles per week, strength train, play pickleball, hike and kayak. Staying active is the key to controlling my rheumatoid arthritis, so it’s nonnegotiable for me.

About the new blue octopus: I think I understand they took it to Chicago for the examination but didn’t dissect it because it was the only one. But did they return it after the exams? 🤞

Chicago is my home town! The octopus undoubtedly fell in love with it . . .

Wow, this is an absolute breakthrough for animal cognition! Knowing that belugas have such a high level of self-awareness reminds us just how complex and special these animals are. It's so wholesome to imagine Natasha and Maris checking themselves out and blowing bubbles. Huge kudos to the researchers for uncovering this mind-blowing science! ✨️🐬

It is liberating to hear 150 minutes is a floor and not a ceiling. I have been surpassing this by doing 30 minutes of Yoga almost every day (in the evening), alongside longer walks on weekends. It proves that consistency and weaving movement into our daily life make hitting those higher, optimal health targets quite manageable.🚶‍♀️💪

'Pangaea Proxima' serves as a humbling reminder of deep time. Compared to the constant stream of daily news and political crises, while humanity obsesses over daily, localized changes in our world, the Earth itself is simply breathing-pulling its landmasses together, just pushing them apart in an endless planetary dance — and it moves at its own incredibly patient agenda. 🌎

Really loved to read these glad tidings, Alex! Thank you. Have a blessed and wonderful Tuesday! 🤍

Amazing as always! I love all things aquatic and the whale story was the best. The video of the earth mass change was really intriguing. I love these morning "beans". They are indeed the best way to start the day. Even if I do read them in the evening, they still hold the same wonderful news and they're a great way to end the day for me. Many thanks for these amazing stories.

Don't think Luna would be up for this. She would mostly like go meow at her dad who would then adopt the possums and take care of them.

What a full day of work you’ve produced! You must be exhausted.

While each of these stories is very interesting, the ones that caught my attention most were the Beluga whales. Fascinating! Great news about wind and solar energy generating more electricity than gas. I note, unsurprisingly, that my country isn’t included. How wonderful that the River Wye now has legal rights! I hope it can overcome the chicken farm and sewage pollution. Orange cats, so interesting. And the lovely video of the cat adopting opossum babies.

All the others are deserving of a news spot in today’s newsletter.

I’m glad you included the excellent Morning Compass and newscast video. I loved them both.

Another brilliant newsletter in this full day. Thank you.

I worked in Kenai, AK... for 2summers in the 1980s. We would take breaks and go out to sit on the dock, dangling our legs over the dockside. Beluga whales would sometime swim u by us and circle back around - they seem to say " Hey how are you humans doing? You must be working too mucho....Sit back and enjoy our little ballet!!"

We could look out across the Cook Inlet and see the snowy tops of the Valley of 10,000 Smokes. Such a

great memory!! We would work up to 100 hours a week !!!Yikes / once we were young & capable.

“Wind and solar use no fuel once built” Too bad (after your DNB today reported that

“Wind and solar overtook gas globally for the first time in April”)that 47 has cancelled several wind farms already being built.

Aren’t whales 🐳 fascinating creatures. It’s so much fun to learn new things about them from your newsletters!! Another animal story that interested me was about orange cats!

Happy about the two paintings finding their way back to Seville thanks to an auction catalog.

The news about the river Wye is exciting!

Herefordshire is a lovely part of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

What a mama cat “transporting” her kittens on her back! Sweet video😂 A nice

Daybreak today.💚
